I Can't Eat!

I am so sad that I can't even eat because of how painful this wisdom tooth's gum area is! I actually can't even fully close my mouth. I can close my lips but I can't close my teeth together, if that makes any sense. The gum has swollen more and now really hurts if I completely close my mouth because the swelling rubs together. I can't even chew food because of the swelling and the food tends to move toward the left side of my mouth and bothers it something fierce.
I am so sad right now because there is going to be so much delicious food made today and I haven't eaten since I woke up. I am currently drinking this meal shake but it is not the greatest tasting thing.
I want to cry so bad right now.

Are you getting your wisdom teeth pulled, or have you recently gotten them pulled? Mine never grew in until I was about 40 years old, and when they did it was extremely painful. I had to have surgery to remove all four of them at the same time, and I couldn't eat sold foods for several weeks after that. It was horrible!

Technically all of my wisdom tooth have moved in but they all are only half out of the gums. This one occasionally gives me problems but the gum around this one is just swollen and sore and terrible. Not sure if I am going to end up getting it pulled. It is up to the dentist.

@IvySaysHi What created the issue for me is that when they finally grew in, the roots started wrapping around the nerves in my jaw. The pressure from the roots hitting the nerves is what was giving me all the pain. It took them four hours to get my wisdom teeth out, because they had to be so careful with their instruments around my nerves. Otherwise, I could have had permanent nerve damage.

You should call your dentist to see if you can see them soon and decide what is the best course of action for you. Dental pain is terrible.

I hope you have made an appointment with a dentist, although they will probably want to send you to an oral surgeon. Meanwhile, self care measures that may help are to rinse your mouth with half strength peroxide and water, several times. Use oil of cloves to kill infection and pain as well. If you do not have oil of cloves try to put a whole clove in your jaw near the painful area. See your dentist. Infections in your jaw can go to your sinuses and your brain and even into your whole body systerm

I have no idea but I am kind of hoping they do remove it. I am kind of hoping they decide to remove them all to prevent any future problems

@IvySaysHi When I was in high school about 16. I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed. The dentist will recommend if your teeth is impacted to have them removed. I know some people who never had them removed because it wasn't bothersome but mine were poking from the gums and it hunted so badly also.

I am not even sure I have my wisdom teeth! Every time I think I am getting them I end up getting more teeth after that! I have another tooth coming in now. My best friend is getting ready to get hers pulled. I hope your pain fades soon so you can enjoy food again!
