How long can an Albatross live? According to my research, they have been known to live more than sixty years, at least.
On Midway Island, I read that an albatross that was banded to keep track of her age and flights is reported to be over sixty years old and she is still laying eggs and producing chicks every year.
The other amazing thing is that she has flown, in her lifetime, over three million miles. That's like four trips to the moon and back. Can you even imagine that?
What an amazing bird, probably one of the oldest known wild birds in the world, according to those who are keeping track of her.
I love learning about birds and animals? Do you?

Yes, I can't imagine what it would be like to be having babies at 60 years old. I wonder if any woman ever has?

Sixty years seems like a very long time for a bird to live. And the albatross migrates thousands of miles every year, so the miles that she and others like her have flown is almost unbelievable.

@IreneVincent The one that flabbergasts me is the Monarch butterfly which takes several generations to complete its migration pattern.

I research lots of things and I love to share what I find. It's just something I've done for years. I'm definitely a "trivia nut." I have dozens of notebooks that I've kept for years of writing down interesting facts. I've been reviewing some of them for the purpose of sharing things on MyLot, but not a whole lot of people on here are interested.
I like to polish my writing skills on this site. I used to write articles for two different newspapers. Human interest stories were my favorite,. but I also liked to write about people, places, animals and history and geography. My research has enabled me to match wits with "Jeopardy" contestants. I love that show.
