To my fellow Panther fans, I feel your pain. I expected Cam Newton and crew to kick some serious butt. I knew in my gut though at the start of the 3rd quarter when the score was Broncos 13 and Panthers 7 and Graham Gano (K) missed the field goal, that the outcome was bleak.
Then at the start of the 4th quarter when the Panthers recovered a Bronco's fumble and all they could do was punt, I knew it was over for the Panthers. Even though Peyton Manning got sacked twice in the game, I couldn't believe that Cam Newton got sacked 7 times.
I realize the defense on both sides was going to be outstanding, but geez, I thought at least Newton was going to start running the ball himself, like he always did in other games.
I am so disappointed but the Broncos are an excellent team and since I think this was going to be Manning's last game of his career, he deserved to go out with a bang.

When it came to real pressure, Cam Newton folded while the old wily pro Manning triumphed. The Panthers were so overhyped as being so great and the Super Bowl was a formality and for once the script did not turn out as predicted.

It's still hard to believe @JohnRoberts that the Panthers went into this with 16/1 season games and then fall apart.

@nanette64 Nothing is ever written in stone when it comes to sports. Most times the odds on fave wins but you just never know. Playoffs and championship games are a different mind set than regular season.

@nanette64 It would be the perfect time for Peyton to bow out. There is nothing left to prove as he is a lock for the Hall of Fame. Unless he wants to get more Super Bowl rings than Eli as they have 2 each.

I think Cam would have run, he did a little, but Denver's defense shut up the lanes for him. They outplayed our offense. We hurt ourselves with penalties and missed opportunities. We will grow from this experience and come back stronger and better.

You can bet the Broncos defensive coach was well aware of Cam's ability and made sure his boys were going to stop him @Dena91 . In the interview after the game, Cam was really mad. I still can't believe though that the look on Eli Mannings face when his brother won was kinda weird. He wasn't jumping, smiling; nothing.

@nanette64 They set up a Bronco's player directly next to Cam during that interview. Not sure who the person was that thought that would be a good thing to do. Cam did an interview yesterday and said he's a sore loser. I love that. Who wants to lose? No one and if they do they shouldn't be playing. As far as Eli's reaction that was funny. he said as a player he was thinking about what the next play would be that's why no reaction. Lol Have a blessed day
