Cary Grant: My Favorite Actor of All Time!

United States

Cary Grant was so debonair. And he was also FUNNY. He could play a leading man very easily because he was handsome, but what really made him a wonderful actor, in my humble opinion, was his comedic abilities. It was definitely NOT slap-stick comedy, or even rolling in the floor comedy, but his way of turning a few words into a brilliant comedy line and his funny facial expressions were unique and unmatched by any other actor. I believe that I have seen every movie he ever made and I own some of his movies and can watch them whenever I want to, but I also watch them on TCM (Turner Classic Movies) any time they come on, even if I have already seen them a dozen times. He is and always will be my favorite actor. Who is your favorite actor?

I have always loved Charlton Heston, especially in "Ben-Hur" I own that movie and watch it often. I don't care for Robert De Niro although my kids think I'm crazy. Something about him I don't like. I can't explain it.

I love him, too. We watched Bringing Up Baby (one of his great comedy films) in American Cinema class in college. Another one of my favorite films of his is Topper.

Yes, James Stewart was a wonderful actor and he had a unique voice. I liked all of his movies over the years and still enjoy seeing the over again when they come on Turner Classic Movies. I always liked Henry Fonda too. Gregory Peck and many other actors from days gone by. Anthony Quinn.

Cary Grant is a classic all right. Comedy was his forte but he was just as skilled at drama like Hitchcock's North By Northwest or tearjerker romance like An Affair to Remember. Destination Toyko is a great war picture. Cary was one of a kind.

Yes he was "one of a kind." I have "An Affair to Remember." And I enjoyed "North by Northwest" too. There has never been another actor like Cary Grant. I see that @Shiva49 likes Robert DeNiro. Many people do.
