Leap of Faith - Or

Today has been a crazy busy day. I set my alarm for 8 and wouldn't you know it I was up half an hour before it. I knew that would happen. It always seems to when I set the alarm. My brain is on alert, though I'm not aware of it while I'm enjoying blissful sleep. However early I woke, I was still almost late for my counseling appointment, and then getting home and making sure my son was ready to go to school, I sat down to a "15" minute survey from SB. It took just over half an hour and I was rushing out the door once more and barely got my son to school on time. So has been my day with a stop for a minimal amount of groceries on the way home. So my leap of faith has to do with my counseling session this morning. I got a survey from the church counseling department last week, and this morning my counselor, a pastor of the church asked me if I would give my testimony about how counseling has been going for me. I said yes, almost as he finished asking me - to his very big surprise, and this is why I said yes - When I first started counseling I looked for someone I didn't know. Not only did I not know the pastor I counsel with, I had to Google map it to know where the church was. So my reasoning is also along those same lines - I don't know anyone in that congregation, and my talking about the basic reason why I'm in counseling will be to someone I might never meet again. They don't know me, just as you guys don't know me. If I've ever met them in any other settings, I don't know it. I'm hoping that will make it easier for me to give my testimony about how counseling has helped me over the past year. So this is a leap of faith for me. If I can give even a brief testimony about how counseling has helped me, I'll be able to move another step forward and talk to people I know about how counseling has helped me through the struggles I've been going through in my life. So that has been my day and my leap of faith taking me in a new direction. How has your day been so far? Thanks for reading.

there is, and should be, no shame in needing counseling. I actually think almost everyone, if not everyone, needs that at some point in their lives.

It has been very helpful. I'm glad I took that step, or I wouldn't be taking the step I'm taking on Sunday.

After we had been going to our church for about a year or so our pastor asked if I would consider giving my testimony to the ladies at a Mother's day function. I told him yes. I shared from 2 Corinthians 1:1-4 as part of my testimony. Apparently they liked the way I spoke that he eventually asked me to be their Sunday school teacher. I never thought I would be where I am today without taking those leaps of faith, even though I was scared. Have a blessed day.

I Went to pre-marital counseling with my husband. I was always on alert within the sessions. It's not easy to open up, and I felt as if I had to say this or that. I know counseling isn't for everyone, and I am glad you were able to find a means to bear your burdens. I hope this testimony will help you even further. As for me, my day has just started and is going well so far.

No it isn't easy to open up, but I found it is easier with someone you don't know. I hope it will help as well.

Well good for you on agreeing to do that. I just realized I never stopped back by to see what happened to your other situation, so it looks like I'll have to do that if I want to know. I've been having a few issues with either my computer or shockwave player on my browser that things have been slow on here today.

I've had a few situations, so I'm not sure which one you're referring to. The news about my tower is good though. I'm getting it next week. And it's less than it was after Christmas. I'm guessing a tax refund sale.

That may even inspire someone else to seek counselling. I t is not an easy thing to do.

That's what my counselor told me this morning. Their focus this month is on the counseling ministry, and sent out surveys to those who are being counseled. I don't know if anyone else is giving testimony, but he said my doing so will put a 'face' on the ministry.

You know, many times in situations where I am unknown I can be more honest and proceed more easily.

That's what I'm hoping for. After he asked me if I would be willing to do it, I asked him when. This Sunday. My mind panicked, but I know it will be okay.

So the counselling has been a big help to you? I understand you being more comfortable doing it with someone that you don't know.

I couldn't do it in front of people I know. Not yet. Maybe one day I'll be able to, but at the moment, that day is a long way off.

I hope the counseling has been helpful to you. Sometimes it's good to talk to someone you don't know. My day has been great so far. I worked for 5 hours at my friend's preschool, got a week's worth of hugs, taught some mandolin to the kids, and read a bunch of stories to the kids. I always leave there in a good mood.
