Yes, Valentine's day has become very commercial. I am amazed at all the decorations and ornaments that are offered in the Dollar Store, makes you wonder who buys all this stuff.

I insist my hubby and I won't and don't celebrate this ridiculous day. This one along with Sweetess Day and all the other nonsensical days are all made up by those wishing to make a buck. My husband tells me everyday he loves me and I tell him. We don't need a day to be reminded to do this.

Everything about Valentine's Day is so commercialized. The big business for some companies especially targeting the people. I will just do something special than squandering the money.

Valentine's Day may be the holiday most widely skewed from the reason the day was set aside by the Church. February 14th is the day Saint Valentine was martyred by beheading after being beaten for trying to convert Emperor Claudius of Rome to Christianity. He was also arrested for marrying Christian couples and is the patron Saint of love, lovers, engaged couples, and happy marriages.

I agree, this is the same for every holiday. We have fully lost the real meaning of those special days.

That is true . Today kids think holidays are for stores to have a sale.

Forget about people making money.Of course they are out to make money. It is business. But should not ruin Valentine Day.Get out there and buy a box of chocolate for your hubby or whatever.

Holidays were always used for the merchants to sell their stuff. Nothing new here.
