Stupid yorkshire pudding!

what am i doing wrong?!! everytime i try to make yorky puds they look very nice cooking in the oven but when its time to take them out they go down! grrrr :((

Never open the oven after you have put them in until it is time to take them out. If you open it the temperature will drop. Mix the mixture well before you need it and let it stand for a while before you put it into hot fat/oil and then staright into the oven.

I cheat and buy them ready made now. I just have to pop them in the oven.

I would but they are expensive to buy here with the currency difference :( So no option but to learn myself hhhhhh!

So do I because my oven doesn't get anywhere hot enough. The oven needs to be at least 240 - 250 C and the pan and fat up to temperature. Then you have to pour the batter in quickly, pop it in and LEAVE it until it's really crisp.

@owlwings thanks :) it must be my oven then as I've been using the quick plug in electric worktop oven. Back to lighting my gas oven then!! Boooo

lol mine too I think it is just hitting the cooler air outside the oven that deflates them. They still taste good they just don't look as good.

All mine deflate but they still taste delicious.
