Have You Ever Been Hurt By Someone?

Another “Thought Starter” Suggestion What do you think? Is the best way to get even with someone to forget what they did to hurt you? Sometimes, we ARE hurt emotionally by someone else and it’s difficult to forget about it. BUT, on the other hand, if we hold on to the hurt in our heart and mind, we will continue to be hurt over and over again. Depending on what exactly happened, realizing that some hurtful situations are worse than others, of course, can we REALLY forget about it and move on? Have you ever been really hurt by someone? Have you been able to move on from there and forget about the pain? Or does it still linger in your heart and mind? I have a situation in my life that continues to come up in my mind from time to time and when it does, I say to myself. “NO, I’m not going to think about that and I REFUSE to think about it. I go turn on the TV or if I’m in the car, I turn on some music. The hurt is still there but I am determined not to let it ruin my day, when it comes up in my mind. I wish that I could totally forget it, but I can’t, so I have to divert my mind to something else when it comes up. And I’ve been able to do that for many years now. What do you do, when you think of something that was unpleasant in your past?

I get busy with something. And I try to remember that the person that hurt me isn't giving two hoots about me so why should I waste my time thinking about them?

Yes, that's usually true. The other person doesn't care about you so why should you waste your time thinking about them? I agree.

It sounds to me like you've got the right idea.... distraction and don't let it ruin your whole day.... I have been hurt a couple of times...but it does not have any power to upset me any more... I've forgiven them and moved on....

@IreneVincent. Exactly....if you spend too much time living in the past... it will ruin your present and future.... and it wont change a thing....and like you said that person probably never thinks of you....

Yes, you have to move on and get on with your life, because they probably don't even think about what they did to hurt you. Just erase them and their deed and don't look back.

Years ago I was hurt by a co worker and I thought friend, I was devasted when she lied about me. She was found to have lied but I harbored a resentment towards her for many years then one day I thought no more, I do not even want to think about her as she is not worth it.

Yes, people like that don't need my attention at all. Forget about them and what they did and don't let another thought about them EVER ruin your day.

@DRADITISINGH Thank you for your heart warming explanation. It is even so saddening to think that a good friend like you will be gone here in myLot permanently. I wish we can be in contact soon.
