How to accomplish my April goal?

I'm gearing my brain cells and body into the idea of a road trip.
By the end of April the mountain Pass should be snow free- at least on the road. My goal? Get to a poetry reading event.
Logistics: drive 5 to 6 hours each way. Over that mountain pass, too.
I plan to call folks. Hubby plans to call folks. I plan to wave a fifty dollar carrot in front of each asked person- will you go with me and if you can't help me drive, will you ride shot gun?? I will pay you a fifty dollar bill for your trouble.
Poetry readings happen in the evening. This means: drive over and go to the reading and head back the next day cause I do not drive at night on windy roads.

@rohvannyn: I just agreed to show up to a fundraiser for our pathetic local library on March 12th. I have been asked to bring chapbooks for possible sales there. I am about to head off to see about inventory. I probably will be needing to buy more.

@blitzfrick No. That area has regular poetry readings most every night of the week. And I itch to be part of the scene.
