Strawberry mojitos: good in theory but never in execution

My husband and I went out to lunch this afternoon. We went to our usual hangout--a local restaurant where we always sit at the bar. The bartender knows that I always drink mojitos and excited told me that they had strawberry mojitos for Valentine's Day weekend. I've had them in the past and wasn't pleased with them, but I didn't want to hurt her feelings so I said "sure, I'll have one". Mistake. Muddling whole strawberries into a drink results in chunks of fruit that DON'T fit up your straw. All they do is clog the straw every time you go to try to sip your drink which is unpleasant and downright annoying. Strawberry puree would be a better option if one insists on making strawberry mojitos. . . a drink that is cursed in my opinion.

I had my first and best mojito, a regular one, at the Santa Cruz Dream Inn some years ago, most enjoyable. I cannot imagine how it would be if strawberries were involved!
