The problem with globalization is that nationality and race are getting very confusing. When a Chinese guy marries an Indian gal, and they give birth to a baby in United States, you can see how confusing the whole issue will be. The baby is an American by birth. What is the race of the baby? He is a Chinese-Indian American. When you add in the nationality of the parents, there will be more confusion. A Chinese guy needs not come from China. A Chinese guy can be a British national. He is the third generation Chinese in Britain. The Indian gal who is Indian by race may not be Indian by nationality. She is an Australia citizen, and a second generation Indian. Their baby can hold dual citizenship. He can be American and UK citizen. He can also be American and Australia citizen. I think thirty years later, the nationality and race issue will be even more confusing.

That is why most US citizens, regardless of ethnic background just call their selves American.

Except when they want to make an issue out of it. When Obama was first elected President, there was a big celebration as he is the first Black to become a President.

That is still not too bad. I think if you have a daughter-in-law who is an Indian, and a son-in-law who is an Iranian, that will make life very interesting.
