Would a little l lie destroy a relationship? What if you found out that somebody you liked had said a little lie to you or about you, what would you do? Would it affect your relationship? ________________________________________________________________ * A little lie is like lighting a little match in the bed and allowing it to burn. * A little lie is like lighting one match in a forest.

Small lie is still a lie. I will just talk to my spouse and will asked why they need to commit a sin of lying.

I think any lie is deceptive and erodes trust. Better to correct any lie and avoid in the future or else it will lead to more lies and when will it stop?

A little lie would not be enough to destroy a relationship. It is different if it is a big lie, hiding something that I should absolutely know, this is something I would not forgive.

Sorry Anna, but I cannot agree with you. This is the way I see it. A lie is a lie, as there is no such thing as a little lie. It is like making a hole in a balloon with a little pin. It is like having a small stain on a white dress or shirt. It is like having a small pimple on my face. I do not want it there. What is the problem with telling the truth all the time? Why do we want to lie and say it is a little lie so it is acceptable? If you want to continue this discussion, please give me an example of what you would consider an inconsequential little lie that would be acceptable to tell?

@1hopefulman Question "Do you think that I have gained weight?" Answer "No dear, you are always beautiful". THIS IS A LITTLE LIE, I can accept this.

It would depend on what the lie is about.

But isn't a lie a lie? If they say one lie, might they say another?
