Not in my Nature to Bow

Would you bow before corruption? Would you bow before a terrorist? Would you bow before a murderer?
I sure wouldn't, in fact I don't bow before anyone. My will is strong by itself, I don't need something to support myself with. In fact, who out there has the answers I seek where I would lower my head to gain the knowledge? Probably no one. After all, knowledge can be acquired without having to bow to another for it.
So why do others ask me to bow all the time? It doesn't matter to me how much you bow, I won't be joining you.

@OneOfMany When reading your post that was the impression I had from the opening, but the latter part of the post seemed to go beyond that. I appreciate you responding and look forward to reading more of your posts.

@DWDavis In the end it means my ego is just incompatible with 'authority'. After all, when I see how they do their job and it's terrible, I can't possibly accept that they deserve to have it.

I mean in the form of suppression or acknowledgement of a higher position. A small head bow of respect is fine, because nothing more is thought of it.

All religious groups and political groups and other members of society that want subjugation. Basically I'm saying it's not in my nature to join groups that present hierarchies.

@LadyDuck I plan not to. I was just letting everyone at this site that has been trying to do so, know about it.

I agree with you to much here but I would bow to my father.

@1hopefulman Well he doesn't get mad often. He's just a bear when he is.

My father can be scary, but I can still stand up to him when need be. We still get along well.

Bowing is said to show respect, but respect must be shown first before I am to bow to someone. It goes both ways and through out history that seems to have never been the case. So I am with you on this.

I mainly started it because I was annoyed by different religious attempts to make me throw away my sense of self to join them. Frankly they don't have my respect and have never done anything to earn it either.

I have never bowed. I'm a lady, and ladies curtsey. *grin*

I'm surprised I didn't hear this sooner. I was thinking it would be mentioned earlier. :P

Bowing out of respect is a bit different. And maybe I should have mentioned by bowing I met on all fours with your head to the ground in submission.

When I was in college I had so many dark emotions that I'd intentionally walk through the bad sections of town just hoping someone would try to take my money so I could claim self-defense after I took them down. I guess it's in my nature to take them out before I'm taken out.
