For those in Canada: February 15th , 1965, was the day the new maple-leaf flag was unfurled in Ottawa. For those in Italy: Galileo Galilei, an Italian astronomer was born in Pisa, in 1564. I wonder if this day is celebrated in Pisa? For those in the city of St. Louis, Missouri, this date in 1764, was the day that your city was established. I’m sure that many of those who live in St. Louis are aware of that fact. For those in Havana, Cuba, this was the date in 1898, that the U.S. Battleship, Maine blew up in Havana Harbor. 260 crew members died that day and the call to “Remember the Maine” became a war cry. February 15th , 1961 was the date that 73 people, which included 18 members of the U. S. figure skating team who were on their way to Czechoslovakia were killed when their plane went down in Belgium.
