We have the best friend/house-pet sitter.

My husband booked our tickets to Paradise for our spring break vacation this morning. While we were out for lunch today he asked me if I had texted our friend to see if he could stay at the house. I hadn't but immediately did and immediately got a response that he could. Our friend/house sitter/pet sitter is awesome. He is our age (thirty-something) and still lives with his parents. He does work long hours so he isn't home much but he craves solitary time when he is off and he just doesn't get that in his current situation. As a result, he's become everyone's house/pet sitter and we all love it! All we have to do is leave some home-cooked food and beer in the fridge and that is all the payment that he needs. I always think that we are making out on the better end of the deal but our friend assures us that he is because he gets to stay in a house all by himself for a week. In any case, we truly appreciate the fact that he is always available to stay and feed/care for our pets. Cats are easy to find people to watch them, but the parrot is a challenge. We've got a winner!
