The Forecast For This Week Is Improving.

Although we had some snow overnight and the roads were icy and very treacherous today, the forecast for the rest of the week looks much better, much warmer.
There were three deaths today on Virginia highways due to the icy road conditions and there were several car crashes and injuries.
I stayed at home. The schools were closed. My son went into his office today, but was not out on the road. He got home safely. My daughter-in-law had the day off.
Hopefully, by tomorrow morning the temperature will be above freezing and the roads will be clear.
Some schools are still going to be closed tomorrow, but it looks like my grandson’s high school will be open. His father will take him to school in the morning and I will pick him up in the afternoon.
Spring is getting closer and I’m so happy about that.
If the roads are clear, I will run some errands tomorrow, but I will wait and see.
Winter has not been terribly bad here, but there have been some very heavy snowfalls in other areas. And cold temperatures to deal with.

I'm glad you haven't had to deal with snow. This morning it is raining and almost all the snow has melted away. When I looked out the upstairs window this morning, I still saw a few areas where the snow is still on the ground, but I'm sure it will all be gone soon as the temperature is supposed to be in the 50s F today and the rain is quite heavy right now.

We have fog from time to time also. Today it's very dreary. Raining this morning and melting the snow. I had thought I might run some errands today but it's raining too much for that. Nothing important anyway. I would just like to get out of the house, since I've not gone anywhere since Sunday afternoon.

We have had some strong winds from time to time and have actually had a couple tornadoes. One in particular that did quite a bit of damage to a shopping area a couple years ago.
I was near that shopping area that day and had thought about going to a shoe store there, but the sky looked so black when I left another store, I decided to go on home. Debris blew across the highway in front of me, which was very scary and later I learned that the shoe store that I had thought about visiting was damaged by the tornado. Windows were broken and the store had to be closed.
I was certainly glad I had decided to go home.

I hope you don't have to go out in the snow. It's raining here this morning and almost all the snow is gone. The forecast is for warmer weather this week. I was thinking about going out to run some errands today, but not in this rain.

The worst we had here is not so much of the weather but the haze blown to our country from neighboring Indonesia.

What is the haze that blows from Indonesia? I have not heard of this before.
