More chunks of my tax refund gone but the good thing is I actually have something to show for it. A bill paid, contacts for Leah and credit card COMPLETELY paid off! Won't have the money for editing quite yet but at least the money went to viable things and didn't disappear into thin air.

That is great that you are able to take care of bills, and get one of your credi cards paid off. I must say, mine are to the max, but they will paid off, of that I have no doubt. I am doing better as I am not spending money I don't have and don't need, as I have had a tendency to do that in the past, but I have learned my lesson . I woud like to be able to save money, and I am sure I wil .

It does take discipline getting out of debt.

@irishidid It sure does, but I will be getting out of it in no time, of that I have no doubt.

It is a nice feeling having paid off that credit card, isn't it. My wife is a stickler for keeping a zero balance on our credit cards.

It certainly is and I have it planned out how I am going to spend on it over the year to keep it paid plus get my credit score up. It's good right now but I'd like to see it even higher.

@irishidid We use our cards for cash flow management more than anything. One thing we did years ago that helped us out a lot was to start using a card with cash back rewards that went right into our sons' college fund accounts. Those bits added up and paid for a semester or two of books for each boy.

It's a good thing that you have something to show for it. The money was used to pay bills so that's a plus. Sometimes the money can leave very quickly but there's still money to earn.

I also bought a new dryer and my son's computer so I do have quite a bit to show for it.

You did the great choice than just to shop or spent your money to foods.
