When I got home from work, my husband told me the kids didn't want what we were planning to cook for dinner. They wanted to go to a chinese buffet. Well the food at the buffet isn't all that great, it's not bad, but it's not great. I was in the mood for something different, something exciting.. Eventually I decided on hibachi. We'd never done it before and I've been wanting to try it. If you've never been, hibachi is where you sit at a table that has a grill built in, and you watch them cook for food in front of you. The chef also does some fun little tricks. First they made a huge fire on the grill that you could feel across the room. Then they started cooking the food and doing some funny little tricks with the spatula. They flipped food off the spatula and into people's mouths. It was a lot of fun! I'm glad we got to try it. The food was allright.. it was a basic stir fry type meal made with fresh foods.. much better quality than a chinese buffet... but the point of hibachi is the show! I'm glad we got to try it! Have you ever been to a hibachi restaurant?

Yes! One time, several years ago. My sister shocked me and she and my brother-in-law took me out to one of those in the city they live in. It was so cool. They took my dad a couple of months ago. He really enjoyed it, but mostly because he loved watching Amyra being so awed by it all.

@AmbiePam Yes it sure is! Can you believe my 13 year old son was miserable at an amusement park over the summer? He didn't want to go and didn't want to be there... an amusement park!

It is a lot of fun to watch the kids' reactions to it. My kids really enjoyed themselves, even the moody teenagers!

I've been to one of those places before it's so much fun. I love a good chinese place also we were going to go to one last night but then decided against it and had italian food instead.

Italian is pretty good! We always have such a hard time deciding where to eat... so many choices!

I have been once before and we had so much fun. The food was to die for and I have always wanted to go back but it's pretty expensive.

It certainly is! Not something to do very frequently, but once in awhile. It's so much fun!

@simone10 Apparently there's another place near me that I've been hearing good things about.. I might try that eventually. I think it's a bit cheaper than the one I went to.

Seen them on tv never had the chance but the buffet is more up our alley because the kids get picky sometimes. Not the greatest at most buffets but large variety. My wife loves chinese,Kids love any fast food.

Yeah, I know how it goes. We like buffets too for the kids, at least I know they're full!
