Will you stop and smell the roses?

Most of us have had a rough year of it. Few seem to have more going for them, than not. This could be perspective. This could simply be we need a place to vent the bad things, and mylot is safe for that. Whereas those in our lives are more than happy to listen to the good things. Or perhaps, this really is just a hard year. My point is, I’d like everyone to stop for a moment today, to enjoy something nice, a bit of beauty, a positive musing, and then share it with the rest of us! Here is mine: Today, I enjoyed my drive to work. Despite running late, I come to work so early in the morning the traffic rarely poses a problem. I still made it early. I got to enjoy the wind through the window, and the soft swish of tires on the road. The simple quiet of my morning drive is always pleasant to me. It helps me relax and realize that sometimes the quiet things have their point, time, and moments too.

I enjoy most things daily. I have not had a rough year in many years.

@Jessicalynnt I am not rubbing anything in, just saying. Life gets better believe me.

You are correct on the point that we need to stop and enjoy the little things in life. And if we can't stop and enjoy them we need to slow ourselves down and see them. They are right in front of us or off to the sides. Every day is a good day. We just have moments that cause us to feel that it is bad. Just realize that we woke today. My 100 year old lady was an inspiration to me. She lived alone with her cat. She got up every day (at the last years of her life with the help of an aide) and enjoyed every waking moment. Even on a rainy day she enjoyed life.

I enjoy the evening trip more than the morning. The morning is always full of people rushing for work. Even if you are not rushing, you feel the stress when you see others walking so much faster, and they do not have time to make eye contacts or even observe anything else.

That sounds like a lovely trip home. I drive home in rush hour, so that trip can frustrate me

So true. I've always enjoyed that quiet time on the road when I'm all alone and everyone else is snug in their beds. It's also a great time to reflect on the good things and not always center your thoughts on the bad.

Nice post. We need to be reminded occasionally to look for the good and beautiful.
