Snake Fruit

Are you familiar with this fruit? Is it available in your country?
I haven't seen one yet here in the Philippines. In other countries here in Southeast Asia, they call it "salak".
I came across this fruit when I was viewing a video of Mark Wiens on YouTube and later I had seen it featured in the Asian Food Channel.
I am curious about this fruit and I wonder if it tastes like the rattan fruit here in the Philippines.

Hahaha yes, but it is mostly sour. Oooh my mouth is watering while I think of that fruit.

Yup, I want to try that fruit. I hope it isn't as sour as the rattan fruit which I think is somewhat related to that.

My first time to learn about snake fruit! And it is also my first time today to learn about monkey-orchids - - they look like monkeys . . .whew!
