Alone at last! End of babysitting.

Today my daughter brought me my younger grandchildren for the last time this week. I confess that I was in great need of some time for myself. The kids behaved nicely and both accepted the rules of the house. Still, Sofia wants to know everything in the world and she either asks ( many times I don´t know the answer) or tells me very long stories. Fortunatly she is not like my grandson Diego. At her age, Diego liked to tell jokes and he expected me to laugh at them. Goodness! Vicente, on the other hand, brought a tablet and did not answer anuthing untill I told him that I would not accet the tablet in my house in his next visit. Claudia is inviting me tomorrow to her house so that I can rest from taking care of the children. And, best of all, Leticia told me that she would start coming to work next Monday, with days off for her medical appointments. It seems tha my house will slowly get back to normal.

@silvermist Many decades ago, the floor was very near. Now, if I reach it, I cannot get up

I know it is tiring my friend and you will now get a well deserved break. Kids, even if very good, are an energy sapper lolz

I love them dearly, but this last week has been difficult. I consider it a well earned present for my hardworking daughter.

Grandchildren are cute, but it's hard to take care of them. I am glad that your house is slowly getting back to normal.

The house is still a mess, but tomorrow I will start to put it together again with the aid of Leticia. I have enough leftovers for the 2 of us so that we can clean and dust all day.

I know how your feel. I have 6 grandchildren and it seems like they all want your attention at the same time. They are sweet and lovable to have around but we always look forward to the time when they are gone and we have some quiet time again.

Yesterday, against all my ideas, I finally gave in to a cartoon movie in Netflix. Sofia calmed down for some time and it was a bliss!

@simone10 I can give a lecture about having children do creative things. But when I want a bit of silence, the telly is the best

It can be exhausting, but you are fortunate to have grandchildren close enough to visit.

My grandchildren wear me out, as much as we love them. They are 6 and 7 years old. How old are yours?

The one who tires me out is 5 years old. The next one can be reading for hours if I let him. He is 12 and a bookworm.

Taking care of kids is not always easy and can be tiring. I'm glad that you'll have some time to rest. Enjoy your much needed and well deserved time alone.

Tomorrow I will do some housecleaning, but I can assure you that that is easier than taking care of young kids.

I do manipulate them a bit to make them be calm enough so that they don´t break their heads
