"When we are at age, we should be careful of our intakes"

About 1:00 P.M. today, I was busy interacting here but almost an hour, I stopped because I felt dizzy and felt some chest pain, I called my husband and asked him to get my blood pressure and thanks God, the 2 of us knew on how to monitor our blood pressure even we use the manual type, not the digital. My blood pressure was 130/100 and that's quite high. I asked myself, what's the reason why my bp shoots high? Oh, our food this lunch was raw sea urchin and fried shrimps. I know, shrimps can cause our bp high but I only eat less, I don't know that sea urchin can cause our bp high, my son told me about it just recently. He told me that " you are at age, then be careful of your intakes". From now on, I'm not going to eat sea urchin that much, I found this food very delicious when you eat this raw. How about you friends, are you careful enough of your intakes especially the food you eat in your meal?

I have friend who likes to eat buffet style restaurants. On the last three occassions we all celebrated Christmas, New year and Sinulogm he had episodes of bp shotting high that he needed to lie down for awhile. He is a middle-aged man and must be careful he doesnt eat too much salty food.

I really don't know that sea urchin can cause our bp high, I just learned that it contains too much calcium and we eat it raw, putting some lemon and chili and we also eat fried shrimps.

@ida123 Then now you know that should be taken in moderation. But that sounds very delicious. I have never tasted that Kinilaw nga Sea urchin.

It is the salt content that can raise our bp.

I don't eat sea urchin but I didn't realise some foods can raise your blood pressure. I need to do some more research.

Honestly, I am not much of a healthy eater. I find it boring. But I know I should start watching what I eat.

Yes, it is. That kind of seafood is very delicious and nutritious but be careful, too much calcium to our body is also dangerous.

Oh, my goodness, shrimp can cause you to have high blood? weird, my grandma of 87 doesn't seems to have problem eating shrimp. probably not everyday. I rarely or stop eating shrimp when I found out that it has high purine and could contribute to my uric acid problem. shame, all of that stupid cornic

I never take my blood pressure, and I've never worried about it. I would never eat anything like raw sea urchin though.

So far I have no problem with blood pressure but I am a heavy eater of seafoods. I only feel dizzy due to ear infection. I have vertigo. :(

I can relate you on that because my father has vertigo, he can't sleep well because he felt dizzy and when he can't get the right position in lying down the bed.
