I went to a flea market today. It is always interesting, all the sights and sounds. I always meet someone I know, like talking to vendors, and always end up buying something I should not. I got bananas and strawberries. They were good. I did not need donuts, though Do you like to go to flea markets. What do you buy there? What do you like or dislike about them?

You have to look past the junk and find exactly what you want.

Flea markets in England are more like second hand stalls. I buy my fruit at the regular market.

I haven't been to any flea markets since moving to Colorado a couple of years ago. When I was in CA we used to go to them n the spring and summer all the time. We would go for the garage sale part and then on the way out get some fruits and vegetables straight from the farms. My kids and husband loved to do this, it was an enjoyable time spent together as a family.

I love flea markets but have trouble coping with people trying to push things on to me. I really only buy what is needed which isn't much - but donuts might tempt me!

I bought a little bag of mini donuts for a dollar and ate them while I walked around. The guy was making them as we talked. He had this little tunnel of hot grease and he stuck the donuts in at the beginning and they were cooked by the time they floated to the end. Wicked, but good.

@akalinus I really didn't need to know this - especially as I haven't even had breakfast yet!

I used to love going to them. Nowadays though, they are only vendors selling new stuff. Back in the day, it was fun to sort through other people's "junk".

I used to like going when I lived in NC because it was other people's stuff they were selling. Now most of it is not used and very expensive where we live. I don't like that much.

Most of the stuff for sale in ours is new stuff. Some is expensive and some reasonable. There are people who sell second hand stuff or stuff that they bought in large lots for a bargain and selling individual items. I just like walking around, talking to people and taking in the sights.

You went to the flea market today, and it in the mid of February? Where are you from? We don't have ours until the begining of summer, I think. But, to answer your question, yes I do like to go to flea markets. They have a lot of interesting things there, and they are fairly cheap on the price also. One of my flea markets here in town, has a pet section. They have dogs, cats, rabbits, ducks, etc. for sale. I bought two dogs one time back years ago, and they were like $10 a piece. I thought it was a good deal, so, I bought one puppy, but, than, seen the other puppy in the back of the cage, and felt sorry for him, so, I wound up buying him too. :) I plan on going to the flea market this year, as I did last year. It is fun for me, my mom, and my wife going to the flea market during the summer time. We enjoy going every year. :)

I live in central Florida, about an hour from Tampa. I did not see any live animals but there was lots of produce.

@akalinus That's cool that you live in Florida. I didn't know exactly where you were from, and didn't know how they could start flea market now and it in February. But, now it all makes sense. :D LOL

Hi there! I'm in FL for the winter. I haven't been to a flea market in years. I have only bought antiques.
