Have you ever seen posts full of incorrect information that make you want to rip your hair out?
(As you can tell by my avatar, I have seen lots of them
)
What makes it so irritating (to me) is you can tell the person countless times that they are wrong, show the person proof that they are wrong...and still, they continue on their merry way sowing things...that...are...simply...not...true.
I know, I know...I shouldn't let it bother me...but it does.
(This might explain my high blood pressure at the doctor
)
And then you see a dozen people responding to the post saying "Oh, I never knew that, thanks for the info"
So now THEY are going to go around spreading this misinformation as well.
(It's kind of like people talking about Obama's birth certificate
)
Sorry...I know it really doesn't do any good to complain, I just needed to rant here so I didn't do it on someone's discussion

I know how to cure every illness, lower your cholesterol AND blood pressure, in one simple way.
Stop eating.
Of course, then you'll die sooner or later, but it'll stop all those things...

This will be like the 'wolf' wolf' kind of situation. No one will trust you again. Then do not blame anyone, unless the doctor told you to do it before checking your bp just like my doctor tells me to go up and down a couple of steps as fast as I can before he checks me

Kind of hard to check your resting blood pressure by making you do something before checking it, maybe you need a new doctor

I really understand you.
There was a lecturer called Einav Gand Galili, she talked about cyber security. You can look for that lecture at youtube and activate the English subtitles.
Her lecture was full of mistakes and many professionals and engineers pointed her mistakes after the lecture.
Her lecture is a total joke.
Guess what ? She sued more than 25 people for criticizing her lecture. Some are reporters, some are bloggers and some are just regular internet users, like us...
Who knows what happened with that sue. That sue is meant to stop the bloggers and others from pointing her mistakes and shut their mouth up. There is an internet group that decided to defend against such kind of sues.
The bottom line is to doubt and use critical thinking. Read more information from other sources, see if it all fits together. Many people can write and talk and we have to investigate what they say.

Thank you.
It bothers me a little when people tell incorrect things. Even the guide at the computer class in my city, he tells about the disk on key memory (flash if I'm correct) that it contains huge tables of logarithms... I asked him what are those logarithm tables all about ? What did he mean ?
Do you know any people that tell wrong things or incorrect things sometimes ?

It's like those who blindly share everything the read on Facebook. The media is much to blame, but really, most people should spend a moment doing some research.

I haven't come acroos discusssons like that yet, but from what you saying, it sounds like a total nightmare. I don't understand why people give misinformation, especially after they have been told they are misinformed. People need to get their facts straght before they ever say post in here. I know I am the type of person, that if I am wrong, I want somebody to tell me that I am wrong, ane believe me, I won't repeat the same thing again, as I want to get things right to begin with. I doi appreciate all the infor you have give me, as it has been very much appreciated, and thank you for sugggesting the new site. It is great and I love it.

It was either this, or go outside and scream really loud to let the pressure off, and since it's 4 in the morning, I'd probably wake up the neighbors

@JolietJake Oh.no do not do that.There are posts not only about curing illnesses,but how to calculate the earnings for each of ''our''activities.Personally I think it is not worth bursting our arteries.I see such persons so cocksure of everything.They have no doubts,they will not listen to any body.

My favorite AAARRRRRGH... I use it all the time
I see the posts that you are talking about, I read them and leave a comment that says I didn't know tthat and move on knowing I don't believe them and I could care less. It's just not worth high blood pressure on social media, it's full of disparate people who post trash because they don't know better...That's why my blood pressure is normal, try it, you'll like it

I heard somewhere that presenting information counter to someone's beliefs will make them cling tighter to those beliefs. It's hard for us to question themselves sometimes. We also make genuine mistakes. And that then leaves us with the idiots who never bother to educate themselves. It also drives me nuts when people dispense misinformation. While I'm not one to really argue with someone about it- I tend to say my two cents and leave it at that- it's still a pet-peeve of mine. One that gets to me is trying to use the 2nd law of thermodynamics to disprove evolution. Basically it goes, "since energy "breaks down" over time, and becomes more chaotic, evolution must be wrong because evolution says organisms start off simple and become more complex, which means it's moving in a direction not allowed for by physics." Now, I am by no means physics expert, but I know enough to realize this arguement makes no sense. There are times when you just have facepalm, lol.

Hmmm...it seems like both theories could be compatible, at different times, to some discussions...some break down and become chaotic, some evolve and become more complex

I believe for whom your discussion is intended would have read, understood it and would have got your message. I agree with you starting a discussion without any authentic proof of the contents/information could do more harm than good.
