I deserve it! I have worked a lot all day. The hamgurgers, the pesto and other delicious food are in the freezer and now I can post in peace.
As of now, Elvis is singing to me Love me Tender. One of the things I love about those long recordings of several songs is that I never know what will come next. That was part of the fun we had almost sixty years ago, when we had our parties and we stacked up to 12 singles in the Hi Fi recorder. Those were the days!
I write slowly, so that Love me tender gives way to Jailhouse rock. I can watch the song with the video from the movie. And I can see that Michael Jackson learned a lot from Elvis.
Do you return to old days through music? Do you do it while you mylot?

@marguicha I am very familiar with most of the singers from the 1960s and even the 1950s. I was born in 1949, but I never had any time for Rock and Roll.

@Asylum I was born in 1945 and rock and roll was part of my culture as they also were traditional latin music and classic music. Beethoven and Vivaldi had their moments and Elvis had his.
During my teens there was also a sort of revival of folk music in my country. That happened in most of South America. But Our Violeta Parra has been considered the best there was.

Elvis voice was very special. He had a beautiful and sexy voice. And he, himself, was very attractive. Now that we can watch videos of all the singers of the 60s, you can see how handsome and masculine he was as compared to others. Of course I am writing as a woman fan.
On the other hand, Elvis made a musical revolution in a very prude society. Maybe it would have happened anyway, but check videos of the singers of the 60s with their too loose pants and then watch Elvis sing "Jailhouse Rock.

Besides my love for Elvis, I always end up with a mist in my own eyes when I listen to Smoke get in your eyes. It is SO romantic!

The old days bring to life when my father played these kind of musics. Since he is not with us anymore. There is always random playing of his favorite songs in the house. Now, the memories lingered into our senses while listening the songs.

I was a teen on those days so that the music is part of a very important period of my life.

I wasn't born when Elvis started, and my parents weren't born when some of the music on my iPod came out (honestly, I have things going back to 1927 on my iPod!), so you can't really say I "return to the old days."
Yes, I listen to music while I write here, at Info Barrel, and just about everywhere else. The music is always on at my house!
I had a math teacher in high school who went to Evansville, Indiana to see Elvis. She took an entire class period to tell us about the show!

Sometimes I play the music of my youth, sometimes I am more into clasic music or ethnic Latin America music. It depends on my mood.

Elvis was my girlfriend's first concert. Lucky her.
