Because earnings are updated once an hour, and you are not paid for what you do, but for the interaction you get from other users

relax read post comment post stuff and you will see the number change I started here a few days ago. i am quite pleased with my numbers. You don't get paid one cent for every interaction so if you are looking for something like that maybe this place isn't for you. This place is more about genuine interaction. So if you leave comments like great post thanks for sharing you aren't going to make anything. If you never comment and just like ten post on someones page you aren't going to make any money. If you want to make $ here you are going to have to really read peoples posts leave comments that are meaningful and basically be friends. Good luck

You don't get paid for anything you do. You get paid for the interaction you get from other members.

@JolietJake Hence getting paid for what you do. If you leave spam comments nobody will interact with it because it has no value and in turn you earn nothing. If you post and don't interact back people will stop interacting with you and you earn no money. So if you don't post don't interact you don't earn which is the same as saying what you do. You won't get anything if you don't put out anything.
