Great Day for a Nature Hike

It was so beautiful outside this morning, that I had the itch to get out of the house and do something adventurous! So the boy and I decided to head out on a nature hike in a local nature park, where we could take full advantage of this gorgeous Florida weather! The girls, of course, wanted to stay home, so we just made it a boys day out!
During the hike, we found a large gopher tortoise burrow, and although I could see its head poking out from deep in the hole, I just couldn't quite capture the image on my camera. I didn't want the poor thing to be scared out of its mind, so we didn't stick around too long bothering it.
We also met a family visiting from England, and I was all too happy to talk to them about some great things to do in our area. I also showed them where some great alligator viewing spots were, since they had asked about where to find them.
On the way home, we witnessed a small plane make an emergency landing on the road up ahead of us. Fortunately, the pilot and passenger were okay, but were taken to the hospital anyway just to check them out.

That would have been so much fun. I'd love to go on a little adventure like that but everyone here sucks and wont want to.

@VivaLaDani13 You don't need to be rich to go hiking and camping and on adventures to the beach and beyond! You should fly to Florida, and then you can go on a wild adventure to get to Texas! It would be fun!

@Asylum Apparently, they love ethnic food! Helps them get all the nutrients and vitamins they need for strong, healthy growth and development!

Still in my jammies, but need to get moving soon. The sun is shining and the temps will be in the low 70's F / 20's C today. Just need to keep an eye on the air quality. Wind comes from the east overnight, but usually switches to onshore late in the morning, then I can go out and play too.

When the wind is blowing out of the east, does it bring with it a lot of pollution, or is it mostly pollen and allergens?

@moffittjc It's not a flash dinner - just friends staying and sleeping over to attend the concert and the 3 musicians. The musicians aren't sleeping over this time. There'll be cold meats (cooked the day before), salads (prepared in the morning) and fresh fruit. Once it's served, they're basically on their own as we'll need to be down welcoming people. They know what to expect and it all works. We just need fine weather now. :)

It is a beautiful day here in Indiana also so I am going to go for a long walk and enjoy the nice weather today. Hope all is well with everyone and they enjoy the rest of there day

Glad you had a nice outing hiking with your son. Glad the pilot and passenger our ok and it was a minor accident and nothing major. I wish we could go hiking but the trails here are still blocked off so no hiking yet.

This is my favorite time of the year for being outdoors in Florida! Beautiful warm sunshine, not a cloud in the sky, and crisp and cool days. Couldn't ask for anything better!
