Dumbbell small version

From what I realized based from opinions of people I know and research, if you get hurt using a dumbbell, start with a small one. As sad and humiliating as it is I've made a small version of it. I just got this done yesterday before I did my laundry, didn't think it was going dry soon. I tried this morning and it didn't hurt my wrist this time. However, not sure if I could sweat or even have some muscle with this thing. First two weight five and four pounds, this one is not even close to a pound. I think i will give it to my brother as a birthday gift, he might get used to it.

That is a nice invention of the dumbbell! What do you use as the filling? I have some 5/8/20/25 lbs at home but I use just the 5 & 8.

Not really @infatuatedbby I've talk to the electrician who saw my cement dumbbell and he told he use to lift weight something that is smaller than mine. So I decided to make this one, but this won't be the last since it's just another experiment.

@Letranknight2015 You must have been stretching your wrist while holding it so that could start the pain right off at the beginning- You were right and need smaller dumbbells or bigger hands---haha!

I think it is too light for men but ideal for women. My husband started with 10 to 20 pounds when he was starting his workout to build muscle mass.

It seems a good weight for now Letran..it is fine, just do what you can. It is not worth getting hurt or anything, just exercise as you can as you are doing so. No one expect you to break your wrist with big heavy weights or anything. We are not doing Olympics.

@Letranknight2015 Yes you can gage how much is okay for you, maybe make a little heavier. It is good to make some yourself not spend money.

You can make it more interesting by adding sand in the bottle so that it it lighter than 1 kg but heavier than air :P
