Still

It is almost impossible for many of us to quieten our thoughts. Stillness does not necessarily mean thoughtlessness, it means being focused on one thing. Keeping our mind on one thought is very difficult for some of us. When we try to do this we realize how many thoughts enter our mind unchecked, how distracted we are naturally and how rapid our thought processes are.
I often focus my mind on God and remain still. The more I do this the more I understand the scripture, "Be still and know that I am God."
Practicing stillness is to gift yourself with peace of mind. It could also mean that you get a bonus gift of mental and physical health. It is like saving for the future in currency that will never go out of use. That is how I see the practice of stillness or meditation.

@Jessicalynnt There is so much about meditation in the Bible.. I wonder why they preached that all meditation is evil.

"Be still and know that I am God' is a very comforting assurance from God. I love meditating on that verse whenever my heart is troubled.

My prayer time is when i wake up in the morning and before i sleep. During those times i can really be still with God.

meditation helps you focus on what you need to do. sometimes I do that, but I end up sleeping
