I have always wondered why some of the great filmmakers like Christopher Nolan, Tarantino,Ridley Scott, Michael Bay,Stanley Kubrick or even Alfred Hitchcock never won Oscars despite making some of the cult movies.
Is it the kind of movies they make, have no place in kind of themes that Oscars look for?

Michael Bay a great filmmaker? Seriously, in the same breadth as Hitchcock?

The best in the world even outside the Oscar were never rewarded or recognized by an academy. Many took thousands of years to have a recognition and people did not know they had thousands of years of history. So are the things.

It's because the Oscars are fixed, plain and simple.
