Since English is a foreign language in my country, and therefore sometimes it will lead to be a joke in some events. Such as in the wedding, some couple chose the wrong songs like: Just One Last Dance, Tears in Heaven, I Want A Divorce etc. Someone needs to tell them what's wrong when they are choosing wedding songs

I can only imagine what someone who doesn't speak English would choose. Many songs have beautiful melodies but the words might be totally wrong.

Sometimes it seems to be a trend to play the foreign songs, not only English, but even Korean.

I think everyone gets a good laugh when they learn what the titles of lthe songs mean. I hope the couple still gets a good marriage with lots of humor -

@youless Yes, sometimes it can be good to not understand the language.

It is good luck that many people in the wedding may not know what's wrong since they are also not good at English.

My goodness, they can ask for advice online instead of making a fool of themselves. I think the best wedding song is still The Wedding by Julie Rogers.

well, it's their choice and their wedding. some people just need to respect that, unless it wasn't the couple's choice.

It would be better that they do not choose a song if they cannot speak the language. I want a Divorce is very inappropriate.

Playing the foreign songs may seem to have a better taste?

Yes, I think it's really good to at least find out the meaning of the songs before really playing it in public, unless the couples really love that song or the song means so much to them.

But no matter what, playing in proper songs for a wedding will be a joke.

I guess the wedding planner in your country should tell the couples to choose songs appropriate for the wedding. In some cases, these songs you had mentioned can be used if there is a program included in the wedding or having dance session in the reception.

Someone needs to tell them what song is appropriate for the wedding, how about the wedding planner? Maybe, they can advise the couple of what song that fits for the wedding.
