Have You Changed Your Wallpaper Lately? Kevin's Challenge

I just read a post by Kevin1877uk in which he talked about changing up our wallpaper on our computers/devices and sharing the image picked. I did have a picture of my two daughters taken a few years ago, but just changed it to a picture taken in Guatemala last year when I went on a Mission Trip with my brother. I cropped my background image to only have two icons showing and to show that it is indeed on my computer currently. I never did get around to sharing much about my trip last year February. This is mostly due to the fact that my pictures didn't show up that well on bubblews and when I returned I was busy and time just got lost. Maybe I can or will share some of that trip here instead. This image, on my desktop at present, is a picture of one of the many streets we drove through on our way to the Mission each day. It's as skinny as it looks here. In fact there is barely enough room for one vehicle let alone one coming from opposite directions. There are times when we were halfway down the street and a much bigger truck came into the street and we had to back up to allow it passage. This was especially true when it was something like a garbage truck and that type of thing. The weirdest part was when people parked on the side of the roads and left their vehicles there. Once there was a vehicle parked on either side with barely enough room to get through on either side. One was a bit less than one car length away from the other. We were in a large cargo van and had to veer on one side and then quickly veer on the other to miss both vehicles parked there. We were all watching out our windows hoping the van we were in wouldn't scratch either car upon passing. Their major roads were much wider, like we have in our country, the US, but the roads in between our hotel and our destination were similar to what this picture shows. http://www.mylot.com/post/2901056/background-wallpaper-challenge

That would frighten me to have streets that narrow. I have problems with construction on highways. I avoid them as much as possible. I'm so afraid I'm going to hit a barrier.

It would be better, Valerie to think of ways out of a situation is a barrier were headed right toward you. Things like God sending an angel to retrieve you and your car from harms way, or something equally fantastic. It's known as believing images of victory, and many coaches teach their team to visualize their wins. God would bend over backward to keep you out of the soup. It's okay to stay away from those possibilities, but don't fear them. Fear stands for False Evidence Appearing Real. There could be a time when God is trying to keep you from an accident and telling you to go nearer a construction zone that you like, but that may be the only way to keep you safe. God will move mountains for you. If you saw how they drive in guatemala that would frighten you even more, but when you're working for or with God, all things are possible to him that believeth. Bless

@just4him What I do is when I'm crossing overpasses which are high up, I pray and thank God that if I would ever have any problems while driving that I'll think to call out for Him first rather than swearing or shouting in fear. I try to picture what it would be like if an angel rescued me or my car to safety. I know many would think this to be stupid, but whatever we can do before any calamity arises will help us have the faith we received with the new birth when we get hit with fear suddenly for anything. If we're fearful, we can't listen to God very well, so we need to remain peaceful so He can work with us. What I have problems with is driving the highway when loads of semi's abound and it's raining and it's at night. The only concerns I have with construction zones is when travelers wait until the last minute to slow down or stop and almost cause pile-ups. So, it's always good to pray while driving, before driving and expect God to make a way to escape where or when it doesn't look good.

@MarshaMusselman I totally agree with that. I just need to tell my heart and my hands that when I'm in a construction zone I wasn't planning on.

i seldom change my desktop wallpaper cause it takes time for me. sometimes some pictures gives me a hard time recognizing my icons. sometimes i need to edit it to have the best part of the photo in the middle of the sceen. however, i change my phone's wallpaper more often. i usually put my face on it. narcissism strikes everytime.

I know what you mean about not recognizing icons for often I'll not see the one for my browser, chrome which is smack dab in the middle of the desktop, but within the image itself. I should probably move it now so I can find it easier.

We also have narrow roads in our country, but people do not park their cars on the sides where it is not allowed. I have not changed my wallpaper, I only change it during some celebrations (Xmas, Easter and New Year).

I've experimented with many things on my computer. I probably didn't know it existed when I first started using windows, but probably within a few years after that.

It is interesting to see their narrow roads. So different from here! I don't change my wallpaper often. Right now it is the sunset I posted a few weeks ago.

Did you post it for the same challenge, Paige? I didn't note when he wrote it.

@paigea I love to watch the sun set, Paige. I get to watch them while working many days, but unfortunately, I'm not able to snap any pictures while on the job either. This one is quite pretty and mesmerizing, I can see why you made it your wallpaper.

I caught this comment of yours after you wrote it and thought I replied to it, but I can't find it here now. When you said you wouldn't want to drive there, at first I thought you meant drive from your home to that place. I was going to tell you that you have to get their by boat or air, but then I realized you meant you wouldn't want to drive if you ever went there. Even though I know full well what you meant, each time I read this, I think the same as I did originally.

That almost looks like a painting, it's very picturesque. I can imagine the difficulties driving along it.

Do you keep a tab opened up to new discussions to find this one so quickly? Thanks for stopping by. I hope to share more before starting my other business in a months time.
