Have you ever thought about that? No two people are alike. I gave birth to identical twin boys and while they look alike, they do not act alike. They don’t dress alike or have the same interests. They both like to ride on their motorcycles, however.
Their voices are identical. When one calls on the phone, it’s difficult to tell which one is calling. Their laugh is the same. Sometimes it is so weird, to hear one of them speaking and think that it’s the other one.
Their teachers could not tell one from the other, but their family and friends could, except my mother, who never got them right.
This is a picture of my boys. You will see some slight differences but it was really difficult to tell them apart.
Do you know any twins like that?

My twin sons are grown now and they still look the same. One got into weight lifting and is somewhat more muscular now, but they still look like each other.

@JudyEv Yes, I think the photographer, if I remember right, set that up. I love this picture of them though.

I know twin sisters who were very different to one another. The first twin is very girly and prissy. She is obsesses about fashion and her boy friend is always clean shaven. She also loves to eat meat.
Her twin sister on the other hand is a tomboy, a vegan and her husband have a very hairy face.

That's usually the way it is with twins. Although I have heard before that a few twins, even when separated at birth and then later reunited, drove the same kind of car, married women who were very similar and even had similar jobs, so I guess it can be like that too.

@IreneVincent I notice many parents of twins find it cute to make them dress similarly. Sometimes twins decided to stick with being similar until the end while others try to have some sort of individuality.
I think there is still difference between twins who dresses the same. They still have different passions in life.

I sure see they smile differently. And I would agree that no matter how you think they are alike in physical features there personality will never be the same because people struggle to be different yet we also want to belong. I know some twins and if you keep looking and interacting with them, you will know the difference.

There are slight differences in their faces but very few people can tell them apart except their friends and close family members. Their personalities are quite different.

That's the way it usually is with twins. While they look very much the same, they are still different in many ways.

I've always been fascinated with twins. I had twin cousins (girls) that I had my picture taken with every year at the family reunion and they were identical. I told my mother that when I got married, I wanted to have twins, but I wanted boys not girls. And that's exactly what I got.
I'll try to post one of those pictures later.

OMG! twins! So cute. But yeah twins mostly are the ones that have so much similarities that they are so identical. But if you're a good observer and spent a lot of time with them, I think you can tell them apart. And It must be nice to have a twin but must be frustrating too that people can't tell the two of you apart. ^_^ Is that how they still look now?

They have been mistaken for each other many times over the years.

I was told when I had my twins (fraternal) that genetics is like taking a ladle and scooping up a heaping of soup and pouring it into a bowl. No two scoops will be the same when you pour it into separate bowls.
So for your twins (born of the same sperm and egg but split into two) to be completely opposite of each other or extremely different is normal.

Yes, they are "single ovum twins" and "mirror image" One is right handed and one is left handed but they are both ambidextrous and can use either hand. Their "crowns" are on opposite sides of their head also.
