Memory Bank keeps giving returns!

I was reading a lovely post by Joanne who when opening a can of floor wax was transported back to an old 'bittersweet memory' as she put it. Isn't our memory bank just the most important thing we have, which keeps turning up dividends every time we think there are no more? Memories are good friends, when all else is not at hand. What memories have been stirred in your mind of late with a simple connection in your daily life? share if you wish! I give you a photo of myself in the Namib Desert, thinking on my own pile of sand.

I love the light in some of these photos that you share. It is very 'South African' for want of a better word. :)

such a nice thing to say - it was sunset, so all the last rays of the sun were shining on me - my hubby took it without me knowing. Something about south African Sunlight that I havent seen anywhere else.

@Inlemay I think that is very true. Parts of Australia have a unique 'light' about them too particularly around sunset and sunrise.

I find odd things trigger a memory, a smell, a taste, a location

I was mesmerized by the setting sun. Probably deep in some thought or pondering

Memories can also be our worst enemies! And they can tell terrible fibs. Our brains are so peculiar in what they do or think, and how they suddenly, without warning, transport us to a different time or place that we'd long forgotten about.

Memories are precious. I had to use my memory bank on those ten things about me.

Joanne is my sister. We were in our parents home last week. There were many items that stirred up memories, both good and bad. Things that came out of the closet that hadn't seen the light of day in almost 50 years.
