Serving with Elvis

After I got out of the Army, I waited a year, then joined a reserve unit during the Desert Storm buildup.
We ended up deploying to Germany, replacing a Saudi-bound tank unit and taking over their anti-terrorism mission.
They stationed us near Frankfurt, at the very same post that Elvis Presley was stationed at.
The walls in the barbershop were completely covered with snapshots of everything The King did while he was there. In fact, you could, if you were lucky, sit in Elvis' chair for a haircut.
The German side of the post even named their chow hall the Elvis Aaron Presley Dining Hall.
Needless to say, it was really cool.

I know that was very interesting to see and know you were where the King was at one time. That's special.

It was. Photos from the minute he showed up until the time he left. Neat experience.

Huh. I honestly don't know. Did he have a fear of flying or something? I'm going to have to look it up.

@teamfreak16 He flew to Germany via Prestwick in Scotland. Guess he had a full schedule in the US!

I took a lot of photos, and it was neat wondering if we were treading the same footsteps.

@teamfreak16 Towns here are quick to try to cash in on any celebrities too. Even if they only lived six months in a place it's enough for a place to claim them as their own.
