They are cutting the schedule down again on us. My manager isn't very pleased as he puts the schedule in a couple of weeks in advance and they go back and cut hours and edit things. He then has the task of calling all of us because we look online at our schedules.
He called me on Tuesday and told me that my original wednesday, Friday and Sunday was being cut, that it said I only worked Saturday. I told him I had seen that and was just about to call. We negotiated where I worked Wednesday and I'll work Saturday for this week.
On Wednesday I got to thinking and was wondering whether I was supposed to work Friday or Not. I couldn't honestly remember so I was sitting here thinking about it and figured I'd let it go by ear. If he ended up calling me and asking me where I was I'd go in if he needed me.
He apparently had forgotten as well so he called me earlier today and told me that he didn't need me so I was welcome to take the night off. He said he hates that hours are being cut on everyone but that he's getting pressured to keep the hours cut and not adding them back.
Next week he said I only work two days. I'm honestly okay with just two days a week so I said I'd see him next week.

I hate to work for a place where I couldn't be sure of my hours. I remember working for Burger King for awhile to get some bills paid off. I got very few hours but what the manager put on the schedule stuck. If it wasn't busy and I had finished my work I could leave early. Are you also looking for another job? Or just your husband?

@celticeagle I have been told I am too young to be so bitter but yeah... I've given up on them, atleast for now.

I haven't had a husband in years. I split with him before the original mylot went away.
I am not looking for another job at this time, just picking up the hours I have and then doing what I can online.

It's just the annoyance of having to call or be called and find out what is going on. That gets to be a headache after awhile.

@ScribbledAdNauseum That would be a bother. I like knowing ahead of time when I'm working so I can make plans.

@TheHorse Yes, I've had to cancel plans in the past because of it. I have plans this time and told him there was no way I was goin gto be working Sunday.

It's better than being let go, right? I hope things will get better as time passes. He's lucky to have as committed as you.

THe worse part is the stress of having the schedule changed. The only time I am not okay with it is when it's no work at all. I can abide by one day, but prefer two and the occasional three isn't bad either.
