Generalized headache (part 3). March 7, 2016 Since we are only 3 at home, my son and my sister stayed with me in the hospital until dawn of Wednesday last week then my sister left. My son was my significant other. He stayed with me from admission until last Sunday, and he usually takes his meals outside the hospital premises. With the administration of the medications, both oral and intravenous, and the constant visitation of my 2 doctors, a neurologist (who is also my niece from a first-degree cousin) and a cardiologist whom I know of since 1997, and let us not forget the prayers of my siblings, friends, and colleagues alike, I know I will make it through and continue my vocation as a health educator and formator of young and fresh minds who will take their oaths into caring for the sick. I have no more headache, with God’s grace and mercy, my friends, and although I will not finish this semester (next week is the last week of duty), I was assured by the clinical coordinator that I will be given load next semester. (Many of the CI’s are already absorbed in the hospital as N2 and/or N3). As of today, the 7th of March, Tuesday, I am still here in the hospital with IV fluids on. The neurologist (my niece) left for the capital city because her father is also confined so she endorsed me to another neurologist who was a resident physician at medical ward so she knows me well. Dr. TS ordered the tapering of Mannitol with 75cc every 6 hours for 2 days then probably every 12 hours until I will be discharged, hopefully, on Wednesday, tomorrow. My cardiologist also approved of the order to infuse the Mannitol at desired dose. Fingers crossed, I will be home tomorrow. I was home on the death anniversary of my grandfather on March 10.
