My Sunday Plans

You will not often hear me talk about plans i have. I am very much the homebody to the extent that I know I need to make a change. I go to work, I come and sleep, I get online, wash rinse and repeat. The only time I see the outside world is when I am going to and from work, and on two shift breaks. I know how unhealthy it is, and I realize I need to make a conscious effort to distance myself from technology and reacquaint myself with nature, friends and family. The friends part will be happening tomorrow. I go to work tonight, come home and sleep, set an alarm to wake myself up at around 3 PM, get up and get ready to spend time with a childhood friend turned sister. We do not see each other as often as I would like. This will be good for me and I can not wait until the hours have passed and tomorrow is here. In the mean time I am taking some serious consideration on limiting my online time per day. I am perfectly content with being a homebody but even I realize when I need to stop my hermit ways and come out of my shell. Of course I do suffer from social anxiety so there's that.

That is great that you are getting out and seeing your sister. It is good for you. Breath through the anxiety. I know it's hard, I suffer from panic disorder and agoraphobia so I understand anxiety all too well. Keep your mind distracted. You can do it, I have faith.

I used to have really bad agoraphobia but its got better over the last couple of years. I still prefer being on my own in my house but I do go out occasionally and go to my sisters every couple of months.

@Mike197602 I actually saw the typo but was still feeling the effects of a drink I had earlier(so thought the typo was funny and left it) . "Dirty Bong Water" not sure what was in it but it was good.

If you make a conscious effort to go out among people more you won't be so anxious and you will have fun.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Oh I see working at night and sleeping during the day would make it a little harder.

This is probably true. It's not as easy with me as I work at night so sleep during the day. It's easier for me to make the excuse not to.

I am glad I am not the only one. It is different with her, but I think that is because I have known her for so long.

Yes life is for living my friend. I understand how it is easy to get sort of trapped in due to social anxiety. I hope you have a wonderful time now with your sister.

It can be a vicious cycle sometimes. I know that it wouldn't hurt me to go ut (even if it's just for a dinner by myself) but I always convince myself I shouldn't / couldn't.

I don't understand this: how did your childhood friend become your sister?

Not legally. We've known each other for 15 years, and well she's like a sister to me from all the crap we've been through together and separately. She's much more than a best friend.

I am the same I love being a homebody. I suffer from anxiety but find that as I am always tired I am more relaxed at home doing my own thing as I am working most of the time so don't get much time to myself.

It is even worse when you are always busy. There is always an easier excuse to be had because of it. "Oh well I am tired so I'll just stay home." Even though you know it would be better for you to go out.
