A Little Bit Of Holland

There were some places and sights, that stood out from the rest, while visiting Holland.
We so enjoyed the bike rides along the green dyke walls and the evergreen countryside with the cutest houses with quaint gardens.
There is a sense of order and attention to detail. Their plots and small farms are neat and tidy and well looked after and loved.
We so enjoyed visiting an old windmill that was still working. Climbed the steps inside to find a scene from yester yer. Showed how the people lived and even included a little cosy cot incorporated in the wall of the mill, for the young baby of the day.
Beautiful little kitchen and chairs to sit on as they gathered together as a family, after a hard days work. Your imagination fills in all the details.
As you looked out one of the small windows, at the top of the windmill, a vane came silently past.. creating lovely shadows and brought a sense of peace, as it moved slowly with the wind.
The view from the top was awe inspiring and that day a little bit of Holland was etched in my heart!

We also went to Amsterdam and travelled around the canals in a sight seeing boat, for tourists.

We didn't get to Holland on our travels and it sounds like we missed something really special.
