My girls slept well

I'm actually amazed at how well they slept. My eldest was definitely exhausted yesterday. She fell asleep at 5, which is a little for a nap, in my opinion. We tried to keep her awake, but by 5:30-6, she was just completely out. No matter what we tried, she just was gone. So, we figured that if she was that tired, we'd just put her to bed, fully prepared for her to wake up really early. She only came done at 6:30 this morning. Needless to say, she was exhausted, and needed the sleep. My youngest daughter slept well as well. She was completely asleep by 8 last night, and she just woke up (it's 7:30 as I'm writing this). Neither of them were up in the night, other than when my eldest came into our to sleep with us. My little guy was a little different. He was asleep by 7:30, but he woke up at five. It seems to be his new time, for the last week or so. It also means that I'm up at time. Oh well ... at least my girls slept well.

It seems that you have an early bird in the house. I always woke up very early, even when I was a kid.

Absolutely. If they're that tired, then they need the sleep.

Yikes 5 is a bit early to have to be up for the day. We get up here at 6:45 and that is too early for me as it is haha. I am going to make a second pot of coffee right now and get my day started. I am so tired. That is awesome your daughters slept so well. My children have always been good sleepers like that.

@dodo19 I agree with that. I remember when my daughter was little and I would wake up in the morning and she would smile at me. It was the most wonderful things to wake up to. It made me want to get up and start my day to be with her all day.

@shaggin they do make things brighter. As difficult and challenging as it can be, they do make it worth while with their smiles, laughs, their snuggles, hugs, just to name a few. Definitely the best job.

It's not easy getting up so early. But such is life sometimes. Yes, I am tired, but I do try to get as much sleep as I can when I can. Plus, my kids are worth it. No phase lasts forever.

Glad your kids slept well. I wish i could get a full good nights sleep like that it's been awhile. Sleep makes us more alert and go on with our day better.

I wish I could sleep as well as they did those few nights. But sadly that's not always possible.

The girls really must have needed the sleep to sleep that long.

@dodo19 They were probably in a lot better mood when they woke up the next day. I remember how cranky my kids would get if they were really tired.

It's tough for a mom when they all have different times to sleep and wake and of course you wii have to be there for the earliest one until they are older. :) Hope you get some good sleep too. I remember I used to every once and a while- go to sleep really early at the same time as them to get some extra sleep.

No, it's not easy, but they're worth it. There are nights when I go to sleep as soon as I know they are. It does help. Some nights I just need that extra sleep.

@dodo19 I used to do that the odd time too as that's the only way you can get some decent sleep sometimes

I'm making up for all of my missed sleep now...kids are all grown and I'm retired so I can nap / sleep whenever I want but I would go back to the days when they were little in a heartbeat!

I'm sure I'll miss this phase too, when they're all grown up. Sure, I'll be able to sleep, but they'll be all grown up. It's a catch 22, in a way.

It can take up to about a week with children following the time change. I hope that they adjust well for you.

Yeah, for sure. I'm not complaining at all. I just wish my little guy would stop waking up at five, and would just sleep until at least 6.

There are times when my eldest has only fallen asleep at 10, which is pretty late for a 4 year, but it happens.

It can be very tiring if kids don't sleep through. It makes a long day especially if they don't have a nap during the day.
