The "Theme from New York, New York" has become synonymous with Frank Sinatra. Sinatra recorded his version in 1979, and it was released as a single in 1980, when it peaked at #32 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Sinatra could give a song oomph like no other - just check out how he makes the word "and" sound like the most important word in the English language.
True classic tune, this one.
