Big Vote Tomorrow in Florida

Well, tomorrow is the big day for Florida, and four other states. Time for the people to get out and vote in the primaries. Up for grabs for the Republicans are 367 delegates, and 792 for the Democrats. The two big states are Florida and Ohio, and the winner of each of those states will get a big boost in their push to become the nominee for their party.
Here in my city, early voting has been going on for over a week now, and the Supervisor of Elections stated today that the turnout is already higher than the total in the last Presidential election! They expect the voter turnout to double tomorrow. With such hotly contested races going on both the Democrat and Republicans sides, it's easy to see why people are flocking to the polls.
I'm not actually that concerned with the national politics. I'll save that enthusiasm for the November election. I'm more concerned about our Mayoral election for our city, as locally we have a hotly contested race. Since I am a city employee, the results of our local election directly affect me more than the national election ever will (not to say the national election isn't important).
Do you live in one of the states that will be voting tomorrow, and if so, are you planning on voting? Or, have you already voted in your state, or will be voting in your state in the future?

@moffittjc I think next month we all need to vote ( again ) for a new Prime Minister. This system is a joke.
Actually I was watching this comedy festival the other night and some guy came on and said ( and sorry this probably isn't word for word ) "You know how people will ask you questions after you've hit your head to test how you're feeling and thinking etc. Will ask how many fingers you can see you know or will ask who the president is. Well with you guys ( Aussies ) asking you who your Prime Minister is and NOT knowing is the correct answer!"
It made me laugh because our Prime Ministers change SO much that we can not keep up. They keep leaving or getting fired or kicked out for one reason or another. It's just a joke. I honestly have no clue who our Prime Minister is right now. And no point in me learning because we are voting next month for a new one anyway.

I thought Australia was a very politically stable country, but if you're turning over prime ministers so frequently like you mentioned, it doesn't sound like good news.

@VivaLaDani13 Your government is not in danger of collapsing or falling apart, is it?

Do you think you will adjust your vote based on who the leading candidates seem to be at that point when your state finally votes? One of the hardest parts of being an early voting state is that there is no front-runner at that point, so if you're unsure of who to support, it makes it difficult to choose a candidate.

@just4him I keep things nice and simple in my life...I don't talk about politics at all! I keep my thoughts and opinions to myself, and I never let on who I vote for in each election. Keeps the peace among all friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, etc.

@moffittjc I've never allowed debates, which I haven't watched, or what other people do change my mind about a candidate. That doesn't mean I haven't heard about the debates, a lot of people have been pretty vocal about what so and so said or didn't do. What I will do is look up what each person stands for and make hopefully an informed decision that way. My dad has had a few words to say about the way I've voted in the past and so has my sister, but I tend to be my own person and not be swayed by the majority.

My state is one of the last to hold primaries. It's huge as far as both population and delegates go, but by the time we vote, it doesn't really matter much. This ticks us off, but no one does anything about it, like move the darned date.
Have fun. I hope your local boy does well in the presidential primary, just to keep you know who from getting the delegates.

Not sure if there's any way to stop the Trump train now. It's looking more and more like it's going to be Trump vs Hillary for the White House.

@ElizabethWallace I agree with your assessment. I'm a Republican, but I think so many people (of all parties) are going to wake up and realize that we have to stop Trump. There's no question in my mind that Hillary will be our next President, unless she is indicted by the DOJ for her email scandal. But even then, she may still be elected! lol

@moffittjc Which will make so many Dems and Independents come out to vote against him that it will set all sorts of records.
I once thought it would be impossible for US voters to be fooled into electing a "strong man"/crazy as president, like has been done in other countries in the past, but now, I'm not so sure.

I'm generally leaning toward the incumbent in the mayor's race, because our current mayor has done a really good job over the past couple of years. I think he has started a lot of good things in this city that I would like to see continue under another term. His opponent is a former city commissioner who also did a good job while in office, so I think either one would do a good job.
I'm keeping my mouth shut on the candidates running for President. I really don't have anything good to say about any of them! lol

@moffittjc I think the whole world is waiting with baited breath on the President issue! It's great that you have two potentially good mayors.

@JudyEv The candidate for Mayor that I was hoping would win ended up losing. But I think the candidate who won will end up doing a good job for our city.
I think everyone here in the US is getting anxiety over our Presidential elections as well! And we don't even elect our President until November! It's going to be a LONG eight months until the big election!
