I have been wondering about the car that drives itself. I think Google thought this up.

Can you imagine a car that can drive you? I find this hard to believe. I saw a YouTube about it. It uses GPS navigation to steer and I kind of think that if a small animal were to walk across the road it would be curtains for the poor little animal. I don't think they factored into the equation 4 legged creatures nor objects and holes on the roads. If the human eye isn't watching things I think there would be several accidents because I don't even think the Google self driven car would be able to avoid things like I just mentioned, much less a fallen tree limb or a patch of ice.

There is a 3D printer that uses pancake mix to make shapes you can cook and eat.

@sol_cee I would like to print more than a pancake. Maybe a Porterhouse and a side of a baked potato with some nice green broccoli. Yum.

I want to agree with you but I can't. There are car manufacturer's out there now that have "smart cars" that can brake themselves if the sensors sense an impending collision etc.
However, I'd like to argue over how "smart" these sensors can really be and how often they'd have to be updated / patched. It'd be pricey for sure.
Anyway what I was saying is I am sure the same technology is being used in the self drive car. Of course it's really not very new as I remember over 12 or so years ago hearing about a car that can drive itself.

This might defeat the purpose of a self driving car, for instance with a blind person as a passenger with no driver, just the computer's algorithm doing it's thing.
