When one dreams big

Solitaire my dream home has a roof that has marble chips. The roof needs to be cleaned immediately after the rainy season. I time it to be ready for any event or occasion and mostly it is when we plan that party of poor kids.
Getting up on the roof is not easy and we need to get workers who are adept at such jobs. It is no longer the way it was in the good old days when workers lined up at the gate looking for jobs. With great difficulty we find workers these days
I am happy mostly with the results.
While dreaming for a sprawling place seemed great at the time, looking at the maintenance that Solitaire demands I wonder if we could have gone in for a slightly smaller place. It's too late now to think about it. I am proud of my creation and hope to give in to its demands as and when it calls for.
What about you?

What we thought to be an opportunity for these guys to earn their bread seems not to be so. They have other better opportunities for that it looks like.
Notwithstanding all this I will not trade my present lifestyle for anything else. Solitaire is a source of constant joy to me.

One needs to downsize one's lifestyle but there are certain tasks that cannot be downsized like maintenance (lol)

@JudyEv When we just got into Solitaire we had many around to help us. We would even polish the floor and do so many maintenance oriented tasks. Now they have been downsized I must admit (lol)

@allknowing That's very true. However I am decluttering and eventually that should result in a little less work.

We also have a home larger than we need, mostly to accommodate visitors who come from time to time. As we have grown older we have realized that it is an effort to keep it in good shape, but we are doing our best.

It looks like a beautiful place. I think it is hard all over the world to find day laborers.

So far so good. We have managed to get our work done and this seems the only issue we have to deal with. Solitaire is a constant souirce of joy to me.

You have a beautiful home indeed
I agree, the daily wagers are high on demand now. Education level become higher hence educated people searching white collar jobs only. I have found out that the daily wagers are getting high wages due to this reason.

You are right. Daily wages are mind boggling. It is a crime I feel to pay so much.

why what happens if you don't clean it after rainy season? our roof is still old and haven't been changed for more than twenty years. I would have hoped we could renovate it and even change the wires of it.

The building industry has taken them. They pay them well.
