Yesterday, I visited my parents. When my Mom saw me, her smile so big. I kiss her hand as a sign of respect and kiss her small face because she looked thinner now a days, I felt sad when she called me Sis, she didn't recognized me that I'm her daughter. Anyway, even she called me by that, I'm still happy because she still around and that is important. I seat beside her wheel chair and kiss her many times and said I love you Mom 2x. She looked at me and answered, I love you too. That's the sweetest words I heard from the lips of my Mom, even she suffers Alzhimer's disease, still she can interact sometimes.
When I pay a visit to them, I always see to it that I can tell her or him(Mom & Dad) that I love them, we can never know when their time comes or us because their already old and sick. At least, they know that I care for them and love them and that can give them happiness.
What can you say about this friends, how often do you say it to your parents?

We grew up not being hugged and kissed by our parents but they show their love for us by providing us very well.
However , when they grew old , i initiated in hugging and kissing them when i arrive and when i leave . And they love it , by the glow in their eyes when i do that .
As to saying i love you Mama or Papa , i do that when i talk to them over the phone as a way of closing the conversation .
By the way , is it alzheimer's or senility that has gotten your mother ?
But at least she's still alive and can be with you all.
What about your father , how is he ?

I tend to show my love and care towards my parents rather than saying them.I believe in actions more than in words.Yet I Love You are still the magical words which when said to our parents and by them to us make us feel so contented and happy. :)

There's a saying that action speaks louder than words but these 3 magic words is different when you say it to them, if you are not used to it, just say it once until you're used to it and I tell you, they're too happy to hear it and by seeing them happy makes you feel the same.

Try to say it to your parents, the feelings is different and you can see them very happy and you feel the same. If you're not used to it, just say it slowly while kissing your mom's cheeks and I know later on, you'll miss doing it.@

Is it a bad thing that the last thing I said to my parents is "screw you! I am cutting you off my life" They don't love me anyway and they only see me as a blacksheep. I haven't talked to them for 5 years.

I LOVE YOU is not always told to me by my son, but he shows his love for me in different ways. Maybe because he is a male? I don't know.

I can't say it anymore because my mother passed away last week and my father many years ago.
But now they are together again!

Since my mom is here I say those words at night before I go to sleep but too often. You never know when they'll be around anymore. When we were young we desire to be treated as mature and ask to be let go. But in the end, when we feel the cruelty of the world, we tend to come back to our parents and ask for comfort. My Dad, how ever can never get home, because of his dialysis problem, he couldn't afford it here because it's expensive. Frankly, I doubt he has any years longer, unless he gets a transplant.
Love your parents while they are still around, when their gone.

I try to say it as much as I can and even to my kids. My parents did not brought us up saying those words naturally while growing up. But when I became a member of a catholic charismatic group for single person after college, they reiterate the importance of saying I love you to your family members and also friends.
