Being Creative

I use to do some create art, not a lot since I'm not that good, but some. Of course now the only creativity I am doing is writing, but this morning on Facebook, a friend shared this video on making twine orbs. Here is the link: http://www.buzzfeed.com/carolineemiller/twine-it-up#.xalyx19oG2 This reminded me of when a very creative artist friend lived nearby and she had all these vines (no, not poison ivy, I think it was some kind of flowering vine) and she showed me how she would take a balloon and wrap the vines around the balloon, weaving them in and out making these beautiful round creations and then she would weave christmas lights through them, lighting them up. I could never really start one, so she had to start it for me, but once I got going, I ended up making quite a few. Then she said I can take three of them home with me, and that is the picture I am sharing. I haven't used them in years, so they do need some cleaning. However, I will always remember my friend when I look at these and maybe I will get more lights to weave through them again.

I don't do much, trust me. Ever seen those links where it shows epic fail on crafts? Like where there is a beautiful cake, yet when someone tries to copy it, it looks awful? That is me.. lol

I saw a video yesterday of someone making chocolate Easter eggs just like that shape.

Really? If I made something like that, I am sure it wouldn't look like an egg. lol

@garymarsh6 And it was nice and smooth, right? Mine would probably be lumpy. But I have no reason to make a chocolate egg, in fact the only creative thing I need to do now is my writing and getting my house organized. So if you have any organizing ideas, I'm all ears...

@Carmelanirel2 They used a balloon squirted it in wiggles then let it set and kept doing it all over the balloon. Once you had the shape you popped the balloon leaving you with what looks like a bird nest Chocolate egg.

Your friend is clever in mind and skillful in hand .The balloon reminds me of another story posted by @garymarsh,where the balloons was poured into water with different colour each ,they became varicoloured ice balls after those balloons froze ,which liven the yard up .

Oh, that sounds interesting, I should check that out. Yes my friend was very creative in the arts, she painted and made some many things. One I remember the most is she would paint ostrich eggs. They were so beautiful and I really miss her. When she got divorced, she moved down south and though I have an e-mail address, the last time I contacted her, she didn't reply back. Maybe I should try again.

That is so weird. The link you gave me shows the same thing you experience when you sign in. So maybe this is a MyLot/internet problem. I'm going to contact the admin about this...if I can

@Carmelanirel2 I am interested in both, dancing and writing. I can dance Bhangra (if you know what kind of a dance is that) and I can write posts that I do for living after I resigned from my regular job

@suni51 Oooo, I love that dance, in this video I can see myself as the one in the back with the high jumping..lol I also do folk dancing, Hebrew folk dancing as well as interpretive, and flag dancing. As for writing, yes I write posts, but I also have a couple novels I'd like to see published soon.
Bhangra dance at the Indian Dance recital on Sept 4, 2010.

Actually, I only finished it, my artist friend had to start each one, but thank you. I think my creativity is my writing and dancing, so I will stick with that.

I was pretty good at the simple crafts, back when my kids were like 5 or 6 or younger, but then they lost interest because I couldn't do the more complicated ones.

@Carmelanirel2 I hear ya. I enjoyed doing the crafts we did in Girl Scouts and those school Christmas projects we did. I couldn't do anything more complicated, though I tried a couple times, it just didn't work out.

What a nice idea and it doesn't sound that hard to do. They would look really pretty with lights threaded through them.

I think maybe I should have waited to get more lights before sharing, but I don't know when that will be or if I can get only white lights at this time.

@Carmelanirel2 It is easy enough to imagine how pretty they'd be.

It does, but when the lights got old and I was struggling in school, I never replace them. I wonder if I am able to find any now? I mean I think they have Easter lights, but I prefer just white lights. I'll have to look next time I'm out.

I am not very creative which is a shame. I was not born with the motivation to be creative or the creative gene!!

When it comes to crafts, I am with you there. As for writing and dancing, I may not be an expert, but I enjoy it and somewhat good at it.

I have a lot of very creative friends and one who is a professional artist. I knit and crochet and make jewelry, so I allow my creative juices to come out in those ways. But mostly, I write. :)
