I noticed by reading the underside of cups, plates and other dinnerware that they had been created in places like Italy and Mexico and China. Some are lead free and are microwave safe. Others do not indicate if they are lead free or microwave safe and this can be a real problem. I don't make a habit of heating up lukewarm coffee in a ceramic coffee mug but I have on occasion done so. Some of my favorite dinner ware comes from China. Is this because America doesn't make quality china? In any case, do you see the irony from the following: A matte black cup with a shinny black interior with a logo on the outside of the cup for Bank of America? Not made in America, but on the bottom it reads, MADE IN CHINA Do you see the irony in this?

I've become much more aware of labels in recent years, due to the fact that one particular news station that I watch regularly has a segment called "Made in America." Have you seen it? I do believe that Americans need to purchase MORE products made in America, for the important reason of creating jobs in America.

It's hard in our day not to find items made in China, almost everything comes from China.
