Solving Our Political Dilemma

I think I have figured out how to bring our country back together again, to stop this madness that has been dividing us over the past several years. It's pretty simple...we just have to bring both sides together. Here's what I propose should happen: Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders should meet up and put their heads together and figure out a way to give everyone a free college education, and get Mexico to pay for it! This scenario will make Donald Trump happy...he finally gets Mexico to pay for something. This scenario makes Bernie Sanders happy...he finally gets free college education for everyone! See, politics isn't so hard! Maybe I should run for President!

Sounds like you would have a good platform. My idea was that the winning president would have the losing contender as their vice president.

I've often thought about that myself, of what it would be like if the winner chose their opponent as their VP! I wonder if that's ever been done?

@moffittjc Yes. George Washington's VP was not the same party. I don't think it's been done since. I know since I read about that, that it would be a good thing to do.

Better yet if they want to help heal America's woes why not have donald give a have of one billion and give each citizen here one million. Most could live on the interest earned i savings accounts and could elimiate some of the social services reducing the defcit.

I never could understand why rich people don't give more of their money away. They seem to want to hoard it instead of share it. But Bill Gates is an exception. He has pledged to give away all of his money, and so far he is making good on his promise through the work of his foundation. I hope more rich people take notice and start sharing the wealth.

@moffittjc He is a member of a large group of very wealthy people who have made this pledge. We don't hear about the other ones, but they are out there doing good deeds. However, your idea is not too far fetched. There is a way to do this. The idea came from Warren Buffet. He thinks the taxes on rich people should be at least the same as those paid by the fast shrinking middle class.

@ElizabethWallace Warren Buffet is a very smart man, and I think it would do many of our politicians a lot of good to listen to his advice!

Great idea. If it's Hillary, maybe we could get the Mexicans to pay for our socialized medical care.

I think the key here is, that no matter who gets elected, we need to get Mexico to pay for their initiatives! lol

Maybe you should - but you might find it a bit hard to implement your idea in the first place! I wish someone would do something however.

I'm pretty sure Hillary Clinton's going to be our next President. She's no angel by any means, but she has lots of experience in national and world affairs. I think the rest of the world will be able to breathe a sigh of relief once she's elected.

@moffittjc I think almost anyone would have to be better than Trump and Hillary does seem to have a wealth of experience.

@moffittjc lol sometimes I wonder if politics really isn't that hard but it's just these people making it seem difficult since they are...quite difficult people themselves. I have very low hope in these people and I feel bad that I judge quickly but even here in Australia there is a pattern where anyone wants to do good for people, they don't last long. Or die accidentally on purpose.
