Do you remember your childhood?

Do you remember your childhood? What's your earliest memory? I have a great memory. I remember childhood events vividly. The earliest event I remember is when I was about 3 years old. Ma was taking me to the kindergarten. I was screaming the place down because I didn't want to go. When we got there, I was taken by a teacher to the "detention room". It was pitch black. Until this day, I still hate pitch black rooms.

Yikes that's horrible! Our elementary school "detention" was a small room with just one desk, it was in the administrative offices. I was there a couple of times. I think my earliest memory is going to a park not too far from here and being swung and singing "Sweet Cherry-O".

I don't think I went back in the detention room since the kindergarten. How old were you at the time?

Who was that teacher for I will kill her or him...joke. Well, I don't remember much of my childhood for nothing so special to remember. Or maybe due to my memory gap hahaha.

Ya, I don't think she knew what she was doing. She just didn't want to be handling a screaming kid.

I remember reaching up to my Dad, for him to pick me up. I wanted up because a little dog was jumping on me. I don't know how old I was. I remember being very sick. I couldn't get out of the car and walk into the doctors office. I had to be carried in. I was 5 years old, and I had German Measles.

@Drosophila Most churches during the summer months would have Vacation Bible school often back then for two weeks during kids' school break in the mornings (as most moms back then were stay at home moms) Now for the most part it has been reduced to a week and is often held in the early evening

I do remember my childhood vividly. My earliest memory is around 3 I guess. I got so afraid to cross the street by seeing a chameleon. My brother was with me. That was my earliest memory.

I remember things as young as I am 3 years old. I still remember this until now, I was on the crib while my sister is listening to eternal flame on her cassette. that day is so ordinary but I still remember it.

I remember bits and pieces of my childhood. My earliest memory was taking a bath in the sink (I was a small baby) so I am not sure how old I was at the time.

I do. We were not glued to the virtual world so, memories are pretty lively even today.

Oh dear they should not have done that to you..how horrid omg. Poor Wendy. I do recall much of my childhood..vividly as well. My first memory I believe is pulling my wooden ducks along the shiny wooden floor, I was 2 as Mam told me. I recall my Mother holding me up to the window to see the birds. A lot I remember.

It was back in the days, misbehaving kids are disciplined first I guess. That sounds fun, pulling the wooden ducks along. :) Yep, mothers are good at confirming when you remember a particular thing.

Yikes! What a horrible teacher to do that to you. I was a teacher of first graders. They always stopped crying as soon as their mothers left the area. I made them leave and their precious little ones were just fine and easily distracted. My earliest memory was on the changing table. My dad taught me the names of my fingers.

Ya I was brought up at a time when people thought more of "discipline" than anything else. Wow! you remember that far back? Amazing!

That seems very severe treatment of a frightened little girl. I presume you were frightened?

Erm, not entirely sure, she clearly didn't want to deal with screaming children? Maybe she should get a different job?
