Ready to Give Up

Two weeks ago, I'm guessing, I sent in and received a phone call from the bank confirming that the documents I sent them was all they needed. She told me they had a complete package. I got a letter from the bank today. "With regard to your pending loss mitigation application , we have reviewed the documents you submitted for the loss mitigation review, and determined that the application is incomplete. The following documents are still needed in order for your application to be deemed facially complete -- Pages 3+4 of the loss modification affidavit Form 4506T - showing I did not file taxes Additional bank statement showing Social Security Income" Those pages are the same ones they lost the first time they said I hadn't sent them. I not only filled out and sent them everything they requested, I did it twice. They have five months worth of bank statements from me. Are you going to tell me they can't see a Social Security payment in those five months? I am so angry and frustrated with the bank I'm ready to give up, and when she calls again, she will get an earful from me. There is no reason why they can't keep my paperwork together, especially since I had it all stapled together. So anyway, church was good, and one thing the pastor said was to praise God even when the news isn't good or we haven't gotten an answer yet. That's easier said than done. So now I'm here to interact with you for the first time today. I really hope your day was better than mine. Thanks for reading

I think I would send them return receipt requested or certified mail. I had the same trouble with the Affordable Care Act. Marketplace.

I think they're playing a sick game with me at this point.

@sugartoes Yes they should have. I think they want me to bail out of the house. It's one of the first questions they ask when they call. My son told me to let them lose the documents for the next 15 years. It certainly would put an extension on my being here.

@sugartoes We'll see. Now that I'm no longer as angry as I was when I got the letter, I'm just going to ask what game they're playing and they'd better find all the paperwork they lost, especially since she told me they had it and the phone call was recorded for quality purposes.

Awww! Am sorry to hear about this! You are handling this admirably, if it was me, I'd be down there going nuts the first time around. I will continue to pray for your case. You're right it's difficult to praise the Lord when things are not going right. I had the same problem when I was laid off. I was only able to see the wisedom of that turnout a year or so later on.

@just4him I agree, I know you will be in good hands. :) Looking back, it was an amazing turnout, there was no way I could have foreseen the events in front of me. I was laid off at the best possible time. Staying on would have only had only damaged me in ways I don't need to be damaged. But, at the time, I didn't understand this. It's only in retrospection I realised how that was the best turn out.

@Drosophila I'm still waiting to see the long term effects of being fired early and not being able to get a job until I had to file for Social Security to get an income of any kind.

There is no excuse for that. I think you should tell the bank that they find the documentation or you will go to the news media. Also, keep a papertrail what you sent, and when.

I don't have a paper trail - at least I don't know when I sent all those documents as I never made copies, and in retrospect I know I should have.

@sugartoes The good news is I'm not angry anymore. The other good news is I called the police. I told you I would.

@just4him But they may be able to help you in person. We had a problem about four years ago, having to repeat all kinds of things. Finally, we went storming into the bank, and told them to get their act together. There were too many people involved. No one knew what they were doing until we met in person. It was just a branch, but they wanted our business and for us to be happy.

@DianneN I'll find out what's going on when she calls next and then, yes, I just might go straight to the branch here.

I was wondering that, but I don't think so since the loss mitigation department is in another state. But I might be wrong and maybe I could go down to the local bank and talk to someone. I know when I tried to talk to them even before I missed my first payment to put a stop on it, they said they couldn't, it had to come from my personal bank, and when I talked to my bank, they said it was on an automatic payment and couldn't be stopped. So I don't know if I could talk to the local branch. The loss mitigation department is in Minnesota. Not exactly a walk across the street.

Calm down and let the anger go as staying in anger will lead to sin. I suggest that you make an appointment with the one who called and said everything was in order and go down to the bank and discuss the situation. If you kept copies of what they are asking for after making sure you have another copy take it with you and if they have misplaced those papers again let them have them and ask for a letter stating that they received all the papers they with the date so if this happens again you hcan take the letter and show them that you have complied. Go in a calm and have a pleasant smile and don't allow them to get you riled up

That would be easy to do if it were close by. However, the bank I would need to go to is in Minnesota and so is the person I've been dealing with over the phone. I'm calm at the moment, but still upset over this matter. The big problem is I didn't make any copies so I have no proof I sent them.

Call them and let them know that you supplied all of the paperwork. I have had to do that a time or 3 when I submitted paperwork for one reason or another. I let them know that I was not at fault, but would resubmit the necessary paperwork.

When they call, and I'm sure they will, I'll tell her she needs to send me another packet again so I can resubmit it all again to her. I'll also ask her what game she's playing.

I had this problem with social security many times. I hand delivered it, called to make sure the person in charge had it, and she read it all back to me, every page she had. I got a letter back still saying I left out documents. I now make extra copies of the papers to keep, and pay extra to make sure the people have to sign for it. Strangely, after doing that, they never "lost" my papers again.

@AmbiePam I told my son they lost the documents again and I was surprised by his answer - He said they can keep losing them for the next 15 years. I guess the longer they lose them, the longer I will be here and not going anywhere.

With what my son said when I told him the bank lost the documents again, I'm no longer going up a wall. He simply said - Let them keep losing the documents for the next 15 years. - Why I'm calm is the fact that they keep losing those documents, I'm not going anywhere. The foreclosure keeps being extended. So it really is their loss. They really do need to get their act together as one person said.

that's just..... wow. is there any way you can directly take this to them? or perhaps send each sheet with one of those must sign receipt of on each "missing" sheet". The fact they keep "losing" the EXACT same sheets is something else. I'd also maybe make her look at the bank statements and read the lines where it says social sec income, since apparently they cannot read.

@just4him stuff like this is one of the reasons I am swapping over what I can to the bank that has a local branch, (I know, not always possible), so I can take stuff in, make them copy it, sign something that they received it, and them deal with it.

I have no idea what kind of game they're playing, but at this point, I don't care. If they want to play and think that by doing so it will force me out of my home, they can think again. I'm not going anywhere. So as long as they keep losing the paperwork, the longer I stay. I agree, they don't know how to read.

Let them be incompetent. When they realize they can lose all the paperwork they want to and I won't be moving, Maybe then they will start keeping track of the paperwork I send them.
